Marathoner Asia (“we”) is operated by Checkrace Co., Ltd. as Data Controller. It is a website that compiles and ranks publicly available running race results from Thailand and ASEAN for the benefit of the running community. This policy explains what we collect, from where, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data we collect
- Public race results: the name used to register, finish time, distance, age group/gender, nationality, event name and year — only as already published publicly by organizers or timing systems.
- Profile you create (if used): race entries you save — kept on your device (localStorage), synced to a Runner ID account only when you sign in.
- Minimal usage data: as needed for service/security. We do not use ad-tracking.
We do not collect sensitive data such as national ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses, or health data.
2. Sources of data
Results come from public sources: World Athletics, RaceResult, Sportstats, UltimateLIVE, HeyJom, ScoreNow, and timing systems/organizers (e.g. Checkrace). We rank and transform the data ourselves and cite the source; we do not copy source web pages.
3. Purpose and legal basis
We process data to compile, rank, and display national/regional running statistics, relying on the “legitimate interest” basis of providing a public statistics service, together with the fact that this data has already been made public by organizers. We respect data subjects' rights and will remove/correct data upon a reasonable request (see section 5).
4. Disclosure, cookies & third parties
- We display rankings publicly on the website. We do not sell personal data.
- Related providers: Cloudflare (hosting/security), Clerk/Runner ID (login — for signed-in users only), Google Fonts.
- We use cookies/local storage only as necessary; no advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
5. Your rights (under PDPA)
You have the right to: access · rectify · erase · object/restrict · withdraw consent regarding your personal data. Use the form below, or contact us. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days).
📝 Correct / remove your data
Enter the name you raced under and a contact email so we can verify and act on your request.
6. Retention and security
We retain data only as needed for the stated purpose and apply reasonable measures against unauthorized access. The system runs on Cloudflare infrastructure.
